19 students from North Caroline High School have earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy. At the December Board of Education meeting, students were recognized for the achievement, along with their Foreign Language teacher Mirta Valdes-Bradner.
Ms. Valdes-Bradner explained that she had 100% participation in the test from the Advanced Placement students, and that all of them achieved the credential. “I am so proud of all these students who also all earned college credit,” she said.
The Global Seal of Biliteracy is a language credential issued in collaboration with a school or organization and the Global Seal of Biliteracy, an independent international certifying body. The program provides access to anyone interested in being formally certified for achieving a high standard of proficiency in two or more languages to earn advance placement, to apply for scholarship or study abroad programs and to access employment opportunities or pay differential. The seal has been issued in all 50 states, Asia, South Amercia, Latin America and Europe.
