Congratulations to these panthers for their PAWSitive referrals this week🐾 Kendall, Landon, Sadie and Dylan have done a wonderful job showing their PAWS each and every day. Way to spread sunshine at PES!! ☀️

Our MLL team in the spotlight ☀️ They help our multi language learners who come from all over the world from different cultures and linguistic backgrounds be successful and every day 💜

PES had a very special visitor today ✨ The tooth fairy’s assistant 🦷 🧚 visited our Pk, K, and 1st grade classes to teach them all about taking care of their teeth and healthy choices. Every student will be coming home with a goodie bag thanks to the tooth fairy 🪥🦠

We want to take a moment to thank our Special Education Teachers and Staff who work tirelessly to meet the needs of our students in so many unique and wonderful ways! They are champions for our students! No matter what they are always ready to go to whatever lengths it takes to help a student succeed! #PESPantherPride

PES is practicing healthy choices all over the place! Our 4th grade Panthers are harvesting tower garden greens and Pre-K had Rainbow Fruit Salad today because we’ve been talking about healthy eating this week! Way to go! #pespantherpride

A reminder that the PES Idlewild/Ruritan Club Food Drive will continue until 12/15. Students are encouraged to donate non-perishable items to our in-need community members. Thank you so much for supporting our school and community!

Mrs. Ireland’s PreK4 class is learning about nutritious food this week- specifically fruit and veggies today! So they made fruit caterpillars with bananas, grapes, and thin pretzel sticks! 🐛 🍌 🥨 Looks like a tasty time our little and big friends enjoyed 😋

Kindergarten turkeys are pretty cute 🥰 and those thanksgiving feasts look like masterpieces! 🦃🧡

PreK panthers got to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast today together 🫶🏻 🦃 We sure are thankful for these little turkeys and their teachers!! 🧡

First grade got a special visit from Maryland Snap- Ed program today for “Read for Health”. First grade panthers got to taste broccoli, apples, whole wheat crackers, hummus, and vanilla yogurt. 🍎 🥦
Read for Health is a language arts-based nutrition and physical activity education curriculum for early elementary school students. Each lesson is based around the reading of a storybook, followed by a discussion and hands on tasting, gardening, or physical activity. Thank you to Maryland SNAP-Ed Program The Maryland Snap-Ed Program, Mid-Shore Region for this wonderful program for our kindergarten and first grade panthers! 🍏🍌🍉🍇

Congratulations to our two positive referral recipients this week 👏🏻 Ben and Everlee are working hard and demonstrating their PAWS 🐾 You both are shining bright!! ☀️

Celebrating world kindness day all week 🫶🏻 PreK4 students from Mrs. Ireland’s classroom spread kindness by thanking all the important people in our school who keep us safe, especially our front office ladies, officer Tull, and nurse Brenda ❤️ Thank you to Mrs. Higgs for helping your groups spread sunshine throughout the school ☀️ Our little panthers teach us more than they know sometimes!

Earlier this week we said Humphrey was visiting classrooms! Here he is visiting with Mrs. Burns's class and having a great time! Also, today we had a trivia contest on our morning announcements! Congratulations to Mrs. Watson's third grade class for calling in as the third caller to win extra recess for knowing that Humphrey won the costume contest for dressing as a ghost, and picked a carrot as his prize! We will be playing the trivia game every Friday for extra recess while we read "The World According to Humphrey!" #pespantherpride

Our Kindergarten Panthers worked hard on their homework this week helping to disguise turkeys that don’t want to get eaten for Thanksgiving! Way to go! #pespantherpride

We would like to take the time to thank Mrs. Connie Rodano and Mrs. Sandy Banko , our two amazing permanent substitute teachers, for all they do for our students, staff, and school! No matter what they are there to make sure that our Panthers have a first class education every day no matter what circumstances might happen! We are so thankful, fortunate that they are here with us at PES! #pespantherpride

How is our PES community doing with The World According to Humphrey? Our Panthers are enjoying our book and Humphrey is visiting our classrooms daily and will be visiting all our Panthers as we continue reading! This week, we are already up to chapter 7 and 8! What did you guys think of Humphreys costume? And was it definitely the best at the contest? We might be biased, but we definitely think he deserved the trophy! Check out Humphrey, enjoying his spacious home and some of the amenities. 😂🐹#pespantherpride

We would like to thank our Preston Panther PTO for their donation of 5 dollars to every single PES Panther during our Fall Book Fair! Because of this amazing and generous donation, every single student was able to leave our book fair with a new book in hand! Our Panthers love to read, and thank you to our PTO for supporting their love of reading! Our Panthers also made thank you cards to show their appreciation❤️ #PESPantherPride

Today is World Kindness Day! Our Panthers show kindness each and every day! Here are some fun pictures to recognize World Kindness Day! #PESPantherPride
